Since January, 2007,
all American citizens have to introduce a passport in the course
of validity, certified born extract and driver's licence not being accepted
any more for their re-entrance in the United States.
The citizens Frenchmen can visit the island during two weeks with their
only identity card.
The ticket return or of continuance of trip is demanded for all visitors.
The nationals of the following countries which want to stay in Dominique
for the upper period in 21 days have to get a visa: Cuba, Haiti, People's
Republic of China, Russia, Country of Eastern Europe.

Animals
The animals are accepted subject to presentation of a health certificate
in the course of validity established by a veterinarian and of an import
licence issued by the veterinary officer of the Ministry of Agriculture

Climate
The temperature varies 24 ° in 29°C with more cool temperatures
in mountain.
The dry season spreads out from January till April and the wet season
from July till October.

Of 8 h 00 - 14 00,
from Monday till Thursday and
of 8 h 00 - 16 00 on Fridays
The FirstCaribbean International bank opens from 8 h 00 - 15 00 of Monday
till Thursday and
of 8 h 00 - 17 00 on Fridays.
Automatic teller machines are available 24h / 24.
Clothes
Light and relaxed all year long with a small pullover for the more cool
parties in mountain. The harbour of swimsuits is not allowed on streets.
Boots and raincoats are recommended for walkings in forest.
Churches
The different religious persuasions are represented well to Dominican
cities and villages. However, predominating religion is Catholicism. Enquire
about the hours of services in the reception of your hotel.
All services are available: direct lines of telephone, portables, email,
amateur telegramme, fax, radio, television and radio. Phone boxes are
available along roads everywhere on the island.
Credit cards
Credit cards and traveller's cheques are accepted by most hotels, restaurants,
rental agencies of cars and turn operators on the island. Exchange
rate
The local currency is the Caribbean dollar (EC$2,67 = US$1), but the American
dollars are accepted everywhere. The exchange rate is US$1 for EC$2,60
in most trade. It is recommended to change currencies to the bank where
the exchange rate is more favourable.
Behaviour
Driven to the left on all island. The border of speed with Reed and in
agglomerations is of 32km / h. There is not border of speed outside cities
unless it is pointed out. Several rental agencies are at your disposal
with counters in airports. The rate of the driver's licence for visitor
is of EC$30 (US$12) and can be got to the rental agency or else to the
department of the circulation (Traffic Department) located in Reed on
the street High Street

Marriage
The couple must be on the island two days before applying. Thefollowing
documents must be introduced: proof of citizenship (passport or birth
certificate), if necessary, the certificate of divorce and the certificate
of widowhood.
Expenses of recording of US$12 must be regulated at the time of request
and of store of documents. For more details, contact the hotel of your

apparatus. Catches are in three holes and can require adapters.

Tips
A tax of 10 % for service is included in the bills of most hotels. For
some services, the tip is in your discretion.

Dominica has two airports:
Canefield Airharbour in 8 km in the captitale Reed, and Melville Airport
in the Northeast of the island, in 58 km in the capital.
There is no direct flight between Europe and Dominica

Culture and Inheritance
Dominica not having being really "colonized " by a country especially,
dominicaises traditions, were not influenced by a predominant culture.
